Week 14 Reading Notes: Tales of Ancient India B
Picking back up for the second half of this story we are now being introduced to the different gods and are learning more about them. The first one that we are being introduced to is Surya, he was born of Dyaus and Prithwi. Dyaus is the father of heaven, his son Surya grew up very brave and strong compared to all others and was the light of his parent’s life. He rode in a car that was pulled by seven horses whose feet were white as could be. He raced all over his father’s kingdom and had open arms to bless all creatures. Tired of making his journey all alone he decided that it was time for him to go and search for a bride. Sagna the daughter of the architect of the gods was then given to him as a wife. Sagna wished not to be with him so set someone else in her place. It was noticed that now flowers were not in bloom and Surya noticed that he had been deceived.
