Week 14 Reading Notes, Tales of Ancient India

This story is about Krishna and we begin with the introduction with King Mathura and his people. It was a great time for them, every single person was able to enjoy the fruits of their own labor. No discrimination and every single person was treated equally and all given the same opportunity to be successful. No one died a painful death but instead just passed away in their sleep at a ripe old age There was not one single thing wrong with this place.

The first time any sorrow was felt was when the King’s son, Kans, was born. Men’s hearts where stricken with fear with all the signs and wonders that appeared with his birth. The earth was shaken and strong towers fell to the ground. Then during the day the sun just disappeared and darkness , then stars fell from the heavens never to be seen by man again.

A warning came with the astrologers that Kans would be a mighty ruler but his kingdom would be one of evil. He will rob people of their lands and oppress the gods an the followers of Krishna. Krishna would come down to the earth to end his oppression but only after a lot of damage had already been done.

After a while Kans had grown up some and forced his father the king off of the lands so that he could rule and create tyranny. He gathered armies full of demons and proceeded to conquer all the kingdoms on earth.
