Feedback Strategies

The first article I read was Preschoolers and Praise by Deborah Farmer Kris, Source. This article explains how to give better praise to growing children. This time is important because their ideals are still changing. By being able to give better praise we can help create a path to a brighter future hopefully.

My next article was Be a Mirror by Gravity Goldberg, Source.  By explaining how mindset can lead to success it shows why instilling a great mindset into children is crucial for them. By being more specific with the praise given is better and that is an idea that I agree with. If it sounds to general it might come across as insincere.

    Hi Riley! This was a nice, concise rendering of the two articles- I found the summaries very interesting, especially the thoughts on giving good praise to children, maintaining consciousness for their developing ideals, and the note that lack of details in praise can come across as insincere. I also appreciated the Feedback Cats picture- motivating, adorable, and a perfect fit to the theme of the second paragraph's article. Thanks for sharing!

Out of all the places I have been ver fortunate to go, most of my favorites include golf courses since the reason I get to travel is to play tournaments for the University and on my own during the summer. The  place that stand out above the rest for me is Pebble Beach which is located on the stunning Monterey Peninsula in California. Every year we start our season off at Pebble Beach during the second week of classes and this course is beautiful being nestled along the coast of the Pacific ocean and this tournament symbolizes the beginning of a new year with goals and expectations higher than our previous season. The amount of history has taken place on this course throughout the years is astonishing. Being a course that is in the lineup for US Opens, Champions such as, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Tom Kite and Tiger Woods have won on this course competing at golf's highest stage. Week 8 Comments and Feedback

I feel like I have been receiving great comments from my classmates about my work. Granted I do not check them very much, when ever I do they seem to be useful and constructive. I think that my comments on the other students' posts have been good, mainly it has been pointing out what they have done well with a little bit of what I think could have made it better. With the blog comments, I am getting to know the other students a little bit, we only get to know them through what they choose to share. I think that my introduction post gives people a good insight to me, but it isn't much. For me to make my comments better, I would need to offer more insight into what could make help make their writing better so the feedback would be more informative. Reading Notes, Mahabharata: Karmic Revolution Part B

  Picking back up with the topic of Karma that has been going on in the videos. Kunti is introduced and in this she is talking with the powerful sage who everyone in the village is shown to fear. For keeping him company and speaking her mind, she is given a mantra by the sage who tells her that it ca be used to summon a god at any time. Later that day, she speaks the mantra to see if it is true and the sun god shows up in full form. After being embraced by the god and whenever he left, Kunti was left with a child in her arms that had gold earrings and was in full armor. It was easy for her to tell that this child was destined for greatness. Since Kunti was unmarried she could not afford to keep the child to took it to the bank of the river and prayed for the sun god to watch over him and placed her child into a basket.
