Reading Notes Mahabharata PDE B


Starting off in reading B we notice as the Pandavas and Queen Kunti reach the palace that Prince Vidura notices that everything is cover in oil and can easily be burned, so fearing that they are going to be burned alive and set a plan to get them out alive by digging a passage to escape from the nearly certain death. Prince Bhima stayed behind so that he could have a chance to exact revenge on the captain who seeked to kill them. Staying behind he waited until the captain and his men entered the house and then set it on fire to kill them like he had planned to do. After escaping out of the passage they proceeded to disappear into the forest which was inhabited by many fearful creatures such as asuras and rakshasas. They found a place by a tree to stay and rest for the night, while they all slept Bhima stayed awake to guard and protect them. A rakshasa caught the scent of human flesh and began making his way towards them to perhaps catch a meal. This monster sent his sister to attract the humans towards him but as she saw Bhima she became in love with him and refused to slay them for her brother. Being headstrong Bhima is talking to her and says he doesn’t care if her brother comes because he does not fear any rakshasas and also says he will slay him which angers the monster who heard him say that. As they were fighting the pandavas wake up to the sound of fighting and go to help Bhima. After defeating the rakshasas Bhima proceeds to marry the rakshasas sister who made Bhima happy.

Out of all the places I have been ver fortunate to go, most of my favorites include golf courses since the reason I get to travel is to play tournaments for the University and on my own during the summer. The  place that stand out above the rest for me is Pebble Beach which is located on the stunning Monterey Peninsula in California. Every year we start our season off at Pebble Beach during the second week of classes and this course is beautiful being nestled along the coast of the Pacific ocean and this tournament symbolizes the beginning of a new year with goals and expectations higher than our previous season. The amount of history has taken place on this course throughout the years is astonishing. Being a course that is in the lineup for US Opens, Champions such as, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Tom Kite and Tiger Woods have won on this course competing at golf's highest stage. Week 8 Comments and Feedback

I feel like I have been receiving great comments from my classmates about my work. Granted I do not check them very much, when ever I do they seem to be useful and constructive. I think that my comments on the other students' posts have been good, mainly it has been pointing out what they have done well with a little bit of what I think could have made it better. With the blog comments, I am getting to know the other students a little bit, we only get to know them through what they choose to share. I think that my introduction post gives people a good insight to me, but it isn't much. For me to make my comments better, I would need to offer more insight into what could make help make their writing better so the feedback would be more informative. Reading Notes, Mahabharata: Karmic Revolution Part B

  Picking back up with the topic of Karma that has been going on in the videos. Kunti is introduced and in this she is talking with the powerful sage who everyone in the village is shown to fear. For keeping him company and speaking her mind, she is given a mantra by the sage who tells her that it ca be used to summon a god at any time. Later that day, she speaks the mantra to see if it is true and the sun god shows up in full form. After being embraced by the god and whenever he left, Kunti was left with a child in her arms that had gold earrings and was in full armor. It was easy for her to tell that this child was destined for greatness. Since Kunti was unmarried she could not afford to keep the child to took it to the bank of the river and prayed for the sun god to watch over him and placed her child into a basket.
