Growth Mindset

In The Secret to Raising Smart Kids by Carol S. Dweck, we are shown examples of why focusing on talent alone is not good for kids. All throughout junior golf when I was growing up there were plenty of kids who were good, but lost the drive because they had been told they were the best and just decided not to work at it anymore.

This article reminded me of that a furthered the idea that for children to become successful they need a strong work ethic. By focusing on a growth mindset it helps to set the path way for children to continue to become successful over their lifetime.

  1. Hi Riley,

I really enjoy doing this growth mindset assignments. When I saw your post, I was happy to read more about the growth mindset. I, too, read this article so seeing another person’s thoughts on the topic was good. Maintaining a drive to work at bettering yourself is a great skill to have. I could not agree more with your thoughts. Great job.
